In a WWE segment of great significance, The Bloodline, featuring Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos, Solo Sikoa, and Paul Heyman, entered the arena to a thunderous reception. Their purpose was to confront their WrestleMania 18 adversary, Cody Rhodes. As Cody Rhodes made his entrance amid an electric atmosphere, a tense standoff ensued. Roman Reigns decided to have his allies depart, creating an atmosphere for a one-on-one dialogue with Rhodes. In the course of their exchange, Rhodes praised Reigns for his formidable title reign but expressed his belief that Reigns represented a conquerable challenge. This ignited a fiery response from Cody, emphasizing that beating Reigns at WrestleMania had evolved from a desire into a necessity. In response, Reigns emphasized his extensive WrestleMania experience and referenced their fathers, especially Dusty Rhodes. Reigns implied that Dusty saw him as the son he always wished for, which triggered an intense reaction from Cody. Before adding on that Dusty Rhodes never mentioned Cody in his conversations with Roman, referring to Reigns as having "it".
